Beth Morrison Projects | Director of Administration, BMP: Producer Academy
BMP: Producer Academy
A rigorous professional development program cultivating the next generation of creative producers, with Alexis leading its 2024 and 2026 cohorts as Director of Administration.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMFounded by Beth Morrison Projects, BMP: Producer Academy is a highly selective, eight-week professional-development program designed to equip emerging creative producers with the knowledge, practical skills, and mentorship necessary to bring ambitious artistic ideas to life.
Bringing together aspiring producers from diverse artistic disciplines and professional backgrounds, the Academy provides intensive training in the business and creative practices of producing, including project development, budgeting, fundraising, contracting, organizational leadership, and the art of pitching new work.
Through interactive workshops, mentorship, and hands-on assignments, participants develop the tools to navigate an evolving performing arts landscape and build sustainable careers as creative leaders.
At its heart, the Academy is about more than teaching the mechanics of producing. It is an investment in emerging artistic leaders who are willing to challenge traditional models, champion new perspectives, and imagine a more innovative, equitable, and sustainable future for the performing arts.
Program-wide impact: More than 1,000 students served across 19 countries.
ALEXIS' ROLEAs Director of Administration for BMP: Producer Academy, Alexis led the 2024 and 2026 cohorts, overseeing the program's operations and educational delivery while collaborating with Beth Morrison Projects leadership to shape and implement a rigorous, accessible, and professionally relevant learning experience.
Her responsibilities span curriculum development and refinement, faculty recruitment and coordination, admissions and cohort management, program administration, teaching, and direct mentorship of emerging producers. She also oversees the Academy's assignment and feedback processes, supporting participants as they develop their own producing projects and prepare to present them to industry professionals.
Drawing on her experience as a creative producer, nonprofit executive, educator, and performing artist, Alexis brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the program, helping bridge the gap between artistic ambition and the practical realities of bringing new work to the stage.
